Abstract:
This bed exiting determination device (21) divides an image that captures the bed periphery into a bed region that is a region occupied by the bed, a bedside region that is a region on the floor face through which a person passes when exiting the bed and has a width that is approximately the width of a human body, and a peripheral region through which a person passes when moving from outside a room to the bedside region. In normal mode, movement detected in the bedside region is determined to be a bed exit, but if movement is detected in only the peripheral region, nursing mode is entered. In nursing mode, movement detected in the bedside region is not determined to be a bed exiting event. Thus, it is possible to provide a bed exiting determination device that recognizes that a caregiver or a visitor has approached and does not determine that the person needing care has exited the bed even when human movement is detected in the bed or in the periphery in this situation.
