Abstract:
The invention relates to a calender comprising at least one calendering nip (N) formed between a thermo roll (20) and its backing roll (10), through which nip a web (W) to be calendered, in particular a paper or board web, is arranged to be passed, in connection with which backing roll (10) an endless belt loop (30) is arranged, the endless belt loop being arranged to run through the calendering nip (N). Flanges (31) or equivalent members are arranged in connection with a stationary shaft (11) of the backing roll (10) for supporting the belt loop (30) and for keeping it in its shape.
