Abstract:
The invention relates to a belt tightener for a motor vehicle, which is characterized by having a pneumatic drive (12, 14, 16, 18; 72) for tightening a safety belt (90), said drive being supplied with pressurized air by an on-board system. The pneumatic drive (12, 14, 16, 18; 72) is provided with a controlled inlet valve (22) for pressurized air and with a control (28) for adjusting said inlet valve (22).
