Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] A belt transmission device where torque transmission is performed between a drive pulley (1) and a driven pulley (2) via a transmission belt (20) passed over between the drive pulley (1) and the driven pulley (2), the drive pulley (1) being drivingly connected to a drive source (11), the driven pulley (2) having a working machine (12) connected to it via a coupling (32) that is provided to stop torque transmission when a load greater than a predetermined level is applied, wherein a torque transmission stop by the coupling (32) when the working machine (12) fails is reliably activated without unnecessarily increasing a friction coefficient and tensile force of the belt relative tot the driven pulley (2). [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The friction coefficient between the transmission belt (20) and the driven pulley (2) is set such that, when there is a slippage between them which slippage is commensurate to a load of the coupling (32) equal to or greater than a predetermined value, the friction coefficient is greater than that when there is no slippage between them.
