Abstract:
The compound of the present invention can more powerfully suppress endoplasmic reticulum stress than can conventional chemical chaperones, and is represented by general formula (1). [Chemical formula 1] [In the formula, R1 and R2, each being the same or different, represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower cycloalkyl group, a lower alkanoyl group, a halogen-substituted lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group, a halogen-substituted alkoxy group, a cyano group, a crosslinked methylenedioxy group, an ethylenedioxy group, a propylenedioxy group, a lower alkylthio group, a lower alkylsulfonyl group, a carboxyl group, a lower alkoxycarbonyl group, a lower alkylamido group, a lower alkylamino alkyleneamido group, an amino group, an alkylamino group, a hydroxy group, a functional group represented by general formula (2), or a functional group represented by general formula (3).] [Chemical formula 2] [In the formula, R3 represents a di-lower-alkylamino group, a morpholino group, a piperidino group, a 2-methyl-piperidino group, or a 2-oxo-pyrrolidinyl group. p represents an integer from 2 to 6.] [Chemical formula 3] [In the formula, R4 represents a lower alkyl group.] m and n each represent an integer from 0 to 3; the term "lower" indicates 1 to 6 carbons, preferably 1 to 4 carbons, and more preferably 1 to 3 carbons, unless otherwise specified; and the halogen atom refers to fluorine, chlorine, or bromine atoms. This compound is thus suitable as an agent for preventing, ameliorating, or treating various diseases caused by endoplasmic reticulum stress.
