Abstract:

Benzylidenehydrazine compounds represented by general formula (1) and agricultural and horticultural pesticides containing the same as the active ingredient, wherein W represents -O-Q (wherein Q represents an optionally substituted 6-membered ring having one to three nitrogen atoms) or -CR2R3(XR4) (wherein R2 represnts H, alkyl, cyano or halogeno, R3 represents H, alkyl or halogeno, and R4 represents H, alkyl, alkenyl, etc.); R1 represents optionally substituted phenyl when W is -O-Q-, or optionally substituted phenyl, alkyl or haloalkyl when W is -CR2R3(XR4); Y represents -NR5R6 (wherein R5 represents H, and R6 represents H, alkoxycarbonyl or acyl) when W is -O-Q, or -NR5'R6', -N = CR7'NR8'R9' or -N = CR7'R8'R9' (wherein R7' and R8' are bonded to each other to form a 4- to 8-membered ring) when W is -CR2R3(XR4); and X represents S, SO, SO2, O or NR22.
