A beverage cartridge (201) having a rigid filter (206) positioned between the base (204) of a cup (202) and an access opening (205), and a second filter (207) positioned between the rigid filter and the base of the cup where the rigid filter and second filter have a spacer (214) between them. A powdered beverage material (210) is positioned between the access opening and the rigid filter.
