Abstract:
The object is to reduce the bitterness of a beverage packed in a container which contains a non-polymeric catechin at a high concentration, without deteriorating the flavor of the beverage. Provided is a beverage packed in a container which comprises (A) a non-polymeric catechin in an amount of 0.05 to 0.5% by mass and (B) a sweetening agent selected from the following components (B1), (B2), (B3) and (B4): (B1) glycyrrhizin in an amount of 0.0001 to 0.5% by mass; (B2) thaumatin in an amount of 0.00001 to 0.005% by mass; (B3) (b31) sorbitol in an amount of 0.01 to 5% by mass and (b32) a sweetening agent other than sorbitol in an amount of 0.001 to 5% by mass, wherein the ratio between the components (b32) and (b31) [i.e., a (b32)/(b31) ratio] is 0.01 to 100 by mass; and (B4) (b41) erythritol in an amount of 0.01 to 5% by mass and (b42) at least one member selected from glucose, fructose, a glucose-fructose syrup and a fructose-glucose syrup in an amount of 0.01 to 5% by mass.
