Title:
BI-DIRECTIONAL SHOCK ABSORBING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/190960
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A bi-directional shock absorbing device: having the inside of a cylinder housing acting as a fluid chamber into which a fluid is filled; having a rod, which holds a shock absorbing mechanism provided inside the fluid chamber, leading outside the cylinder housing; and causing the shock absorbing mechanism to have a function whereby a reciprocal motion caused by a pressing force operating between the cylinder housing and the rod and by an external force in the tensile direction is absorbed and stopped. Said shock absorbing mechanism comprises a pair of pistons arranged sandwiching a fluid storage chamber configuring an accumulator upon the rod, inside the fluid chamber. A flowpath gap that applies flow resistance to the fluid is formed between the circumferential surfaces of both pistons and the piston chamber internal circumferential surface, and a unidirectional flowpath that blocks fluid from flowing to the fluid storage chamber side but allows flow in the opposite direction, when pressed and moved to the piston chamber side, is provided in both pistons.
