Abstract:
The present invention provides: a biaxially oriented polyester film which has excellent mechanical properties, transparency and heat resistance, while being excellent in terms of secondary processing adequacy and print appearance; and a method for producing this biaxially oriented polyester film. A biaxially oriented polyester film which is configured such that: at least one film surface satisfies the requirements (1) and (2) described below; and the film satisfies the requirements (3) and (4) described below.
(1) The maximum profile peak height (SRp) is 1.2-1.6 μm.
(2) The arithmetic mean roughness (SRa) is 0.024-0.045 μm.
(3) The tensile strengths in the longitudinal direction and in the width direction are 180-300 MPa.
(4) The haze is 7% or less.
