Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: a biaxially oriented polyester film that has less skewing and variation in thermal shrinkage and molecular orientation in the film-width direction, that is suitable for various processing applications since having uniform physical properties in the film-width direction, and that is environmentally friendly by the use of a polyester resin obtained through recycling of pet bottles; and a method for producing said film. [Solution] This biaxially oriented polyester film is formed of a polyester resin composition containing particles and a polyester resin obtained through recycling of pet bottles, and satisfies all requirements of (1)-(4). (1) The temperature-rise crystallization temperature as measured trhough differential scanning calorimeter is 120-139°C. (2) The change amount of the orientation angle with respect to the film-width direction is 0-10° per 0.5 m. (3) In the film overall width, the thermal shrinkage when a heat treatment is performed for 30 minutes at 150°C is in a range of 0.5-2.0% in the longitudinal direction and -1.0% to 1.0% in the width direction. (4) The percentage content of isophthalate components with respect to 100 mol% of all dicarboxylate components in the polyester resin composition is 0.01-3.0 mol%. The positions where samples are to be collected for requirements (2) and (3) include the center position with respect to the overall width, and positons located 500 mm apart from each other from the center position toward both ends. If a 500 mm-interval cannot be obtained near the two ends, a position where a sample can be collected is defined as an end position. Requirement (2) requires that the maximum value and the minimum value of measurement position data are within the range. Requirement (3) requires that the maximum value of the change amounts between two adjacent sample collection positions is within the range.
