Abstract:
Provided is a biaxially oriented polypropylene film for a capacitor and that secures stable element workability and exhibits superior voltage resistance and reliability when at high temperatures even in the application of a capacitor for high voltages. The biaxially oriented polypropylene film that is for a capacitor and that has protrusions at both surfaces is characterized by having a thickness (t1) of 1-3 μm, having a 10-point average roughness (SRz) at both surfaces that is at least 50 nm and less than 500 nm, and satisfying both the belowmentioned formula (1) and formula (2) when one surface is the A surface and the other surface is the B surface: 150 ≤ Pa ≤ 400 …(1), and 50 ≤ Pb ≤ 150 …(2) (in formula (1) and formula (2), Pa is the number of protrusions present at the A surface per 0.1 mm2, and Pb is the number of protrusions present at the B surface per 0.1 mm2).
