Abstract:
Provided is a bicycle pedal which has operability such that a cleat can be easily moved to an arbitrary longitudinal position on the pedal upper surface during riding, and that as a consequence, even in the case of extended traveling, muscular fatigue is alleviated, resulting in the leg not being susceptible to fatigue. This bicycle pedal (50) is mounted on the sole of a shoe (22), and comprises clamping means for fixing the cleat (23), which has flanges at the front and rear thereof. The bicycle pedal is characterized in that the same comprises a pedal body (1) which is provided with two guide grooves (20, 21) and with stop grooves (18, 19), said two guide grooves (20, 21) consisting of a rear guide groove and a front guide groove and being formed perpendicular to a pedal spindle (24), and said stop grooves (18, 19) being formed at two ends of the rear guide groove (20) in parallel to the pedal spindle (24); two connecting shafts (5, 6) for freely making movements inside the guide grooves and the stop grooves, said two connecting shafts (5, 6) consisting of a front connecting shaft and a rear connecting shaft; and two elastic means for performing an operation wherein a slider (2) provided with the clamping means for fixing the cleat (23) is brought into pressure contact with the pedal body (1) via the connecting shafts (5, 6), said two elastic means consisting of a front elastic means and a rear elastic means.
