Abstract:
An identification counting unit identifies input bills, a received bill acceptance/rejection determination unit determines the acceptance/rejection of the received bills on the basis of the result of the identification of the bills by the identification counting unit, a rejected reason identifying unit identifies the rejected reason of the rejected bills determined to be un-receivable by the received bill acceptance/rejection determination unit, and a payment processing unit sorts the rejected bills and pays the sorted bills on the basis of the rejected reason identified by the rejected reason identifying unit while operating in operational modes, such as a first mode in which the identified bills are stored in a storage unit, a second mode in which the bills identified by an identification unit are output without being stored in the storage unit, and an eco mode in which the conveying speed of bills is varied with the processing amount of the bills or the level of environmental noise.
