Abstract:
The present invention provides a binder composition for a non-aqueous secondary battery electrode. The binder composition makes it possible to form an electrode that has excellent peel strength and a secondary battery that has excellent cycle characteristics. The binder composition contains: a particulate polymer that comprises a graft polymer that has a hydrophilic graft chain; and a hindered phenol antioxidant. The particulate polymer is formed by graft polymerizing a total of 1–40 parts by mass of a hydrophilic monomer and/or a macromonomer onto 100 parts by mass of core particles that include a block copolymer that contains aromatic vinyl block regions that comprise an aromatic vinyl monomer unit and isoprene block regions that comprise an isoprene unit, the proportion of isoprene block regions being 70–99 mass%.
