Abstract:
Provided is a binder composition for positive electrodes, which has excellent oxidation resistance. Also provided are: a slurry for positive electrodes, which is produced using this binder composition; a positive electrode; and a lithium ion secondary battery. The present invention provides a binder composition for positive electrodes, which contains a graft copolymer that is obtained by graft copolymerizing a monomer that is mainly composed of acrylonitrile to a polyvinyl alcohol having an average polymerization degree of 300-3,000 and a saponification degree of 70-100% by mole. A slurry for positive electrodes according to the present invention contains this binder composition for positive electrodes, a positive electrode active material and a conductive assistant. A positive electrode according to the present invention is produced using this slurry for positive electrodes; and a lithium ion secondary battery according to the present invention is produced using this positive electrode.
