Abstract:
The present invention relates to a binder composition for a secondary battery negative electrode, said binder composition making it possible to form a stable negative electrode active material layer that can follow changes in the volume of a negative electrode and thus to produce a secondary battery with which high charge/discharge capacity can be obtained and charge/discharge cycling characteristics can be improved. Provided is a binder composition for producing a secondary battery negative electrode, said composition containing, as an active material, an element that can form an alloy with lithium, and being characterized by including an emulsion obtained by dispersing polymer particles, which are derived from an ethylenic unsaturated monomer, in a polyvinyl alcohol resin aqueous solution, wherein the ratio of the polyvinyl alcohol resin/polymer particles is 60/40 to 99/1 by weight ratio of the resin solid content.
