Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a binder for an electrical storage device electrode, wherein said binder, when employed as a binder that is used in an electrode of an electrical storage device, has broad thermal energy stability from a high-temperature environment to a low-temperature environment, yields a storage battery having low irreversible capacity, has low resistance, and makes it possible to produce a high-capacity storage battery having excellent output characteristics. A further objective is to provide a binder for an electrical storage device electrode, said binder having excellent active material dispersibility and adhesiveness, yielding an electrode that has improved flexibility, having high durability against an electrolyte solution, and making it possible to produce a high-capacity storage battery even when the amount of the binder added is small. An additional objective is to provide a composition for an electrical storage device electrode, an electrical storage device electrode, and an electrical storage device that use the abovementioned binder for an electrical storage device electrode. The present invention provides a binder that is used in an electrode of an electrical storage device, wherein the binder contains a polyvinyl acetal resin, the meso/racemo ratio of an acetal ring structure in the polyvinyl acetal resin is 10 or more, and the hydroxyl group content is 30-60 mol%.
