Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a binder and a binder mechanism that comprise a simply structured friction plate that can generate at least a portion of the frictional force that holds bound items when the bound items are held in a vertically hanging state. [Solution] A binder (1) that comprises: a cover member (2); a base plate (4) that is fixed to an inner surface of the cover member (2); a rod member (5) that is erected on the base plate (4) so as to be perpendicularly upright; a pressing plate (7) that is for pressing bound items (S) toward the base member (4), that has the rod member (5) inserted therethrough, and that can move toward and away from the base plate (4); a lock mechanism (8) that can lock the pressing plate (7) onto the rod member (5) at an arbitrary position in the length direction of the rod member such that the pressing plate (7) is immobile in the direction away from the base plate; and a friction plate (17) that, by being sandwiched between bound items when an engagement part (17a) has been connected to a support member that is fixed to the base plate, can generate at least a portion of the frictional force that holds the bound items in a vertically hanging state.
