Abstract:
This binder resin for toners contains a carboxyl group-containing vinyl resin (C), a glycidyl group-containing vinyl resin (E), a reaction product of these vinyl resins, and a specific fatty acid metal salt (M). The carboxyl group-containing vinyl resin (C) contains a high molecular weight vinyl resin (H) that has a peak in the molecular weight region from 2.5 × 104 to 1.2 × 105 (inclusive) in the molecular weight distribution of the THF-soluble fraction as determined by GPC and a low molecular weight vinyl resin (L) that has a peak in the molecular weight region from 2 × 103 to 2 × 104 (inclusive) in the molecular weight distribution of the THF-soluble fraction as determined by GPC. The reaction product of the carboxyl group-containing vinyl resin (C) and the glycidyl group-containing vinyl resin (E) is formed in the presence of the fatty acid metal salt (M).
