Abstract:
A binding device for printed sheets, comprising a carry-in conveyor part placing printed sheets on the conveying surface of a carrying conveyor in a flat shape and continuously conveying the sheets in the lateral direction with the position thereof shifted in the conveying direction so that the head side edges of the sheets in the carrying direction is visible from the upper side, a reverse rotation conveyor part connected to the carry-in conveyor part, conveying the printed sheets upward from the lateral direction, and conveying the sheets downward from the direction opposite to the lateral direction, a stacking part stacking the printed sheets laterally arranged parallel with each other in the erected state at the final end of the reverse rotation conveyor part, and a binding part binding the stacked printed sheets. The reverse rotation conveyor part further comprises an upper conveyor and a lower conveyor vertically divided at a portion for conveying the printed sheets upward. A separating part delivering the printed sheets from the conveyor is installed at the final end part of the lower conveyor, and a holding part holding, at a specified position, the tail ends of the printed sheets held by the conveyor is installed at the start end part of the upper conveyor.
