Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a bio-composite material which is environmentally friendly and has excellent physical properties and bonding strength, by using thermoplastic starch, which is made of natural materials, and a low-toxic flame retardant. The bio-composite material using an environmentally friendly material and the manufacturing method therefor of the present invention are achieved through compression-molding after applying a mixture of thermoplastic starch, which comprises starch extracted from a plant, and a flame retardant in a nanoparticulated powder state, to the surface of natural fiber. According to the present invention, the present invention has an advantage in that a composite material which is resistant to flames, etc. while having excellent tensile strength and elastic modulus, can be manufactured.
