Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a biocompostable and biodegradable transparent modified bio-based material, achieving the same performance as thin film materials in the field of self-adhesive applications. The preparation method comprises: providing a bio-based material; coating one surface of the bio-based material with a cellulose dissolving solution containing a cellulose modifier; hot-pressing at 10-20 MPa and 90-130 °C to graft the cellulose modifier to the surface of the bio-based material; further coating the surface of the bio-based material grafted with the cellulose modifier with a UV primer; and performing UV irradiation on the surface of the bio-based material coated with the UV primer, so that the UV primer is cured to form a degradable polymer and at least a portion of the degradable polymer is covalently connected, by means of a reaction, to the cellulose modifier grafted on the surface of the bio-based material to form an undercoat layer. The preparation method is simple and suitable for industrial production. The modified bio-based material prepared by the method has excellent water resistance, is transparent, and can be completely degraded, being suitable for use as a base material for labels, especially for beer labels.
