Abstract:
The present invention provides biodegradable microbeads for transarterial chemoembolization, a preparation method therefor, and a method for treating cancer by using the same. The microbeads of the present invention are made from a biocompatible and biodegradable polymer, and are thus safe when being applied to the human body, and can effectively inhibit the growth of tumors by effectively blocking a blood vessel supplying nutrients to liver tumors and continuously releasing an anticancer drug adsorbed on the surface of the beads. Therefore, the present invention can be useful for the chemoembolization of liver cancer.
