Description:
BIODEGRADABLE TOOTHBRUSH WITH INTERCHANGABLE BRUSH TIP AND INTERCHANGABLE INTERDENTAL BRUSH PLACED ON THE HANDLE

TECHNICAL FIELD

Invention relates to a multi-functional and environment-friendly biodegradable toothbrush with interdental brush in the handle, both brush tips of which can be replaced.

PRIOR ART

Mouth and dental health also concern the gums, supporting tissues, soft tissue of the mouth, tongue and lips besides the teeth. The most common oral dental diseases causing tooth loss are tooth decay and gum diseases. Oral and dental diseases constitute an important public health problem in the 21st century. Oral dental diseases not only cause individual pain and discomfort, but also greatly affect overall health and quality of life.

Oral dental diseases are generally preventable diseases. With the scientific studies conducted for more than a century, it has been proven that the mechanical removal of the plaque layer accumulated on the teeth and surrounding tissues is the most effective method in the prevention and treatment of these diseases. For this purpose, personal cleaning tools such as toothbrushes and interdental brushes are used. Toothbrushes alone are not enough to provide full oral hygiene and dental floss or interdental brushes are required for interdental cleaning. While toothbrushes are used for cleaning the mouth and the tooth surfaces other than the facing surfaces of the teeth, whereas interdental brushes are used for cleaning the areas between teeth. In addition, 95% of the materials used in toothbrushes are obtained from fossil fuels. These brushes, which have a service life of approximately 3-6 months, take approximately 600 years to disintegrate in the nature, and the 5 billion toothbrushes produced annually on average cause damage to the environment by increasing the amount of plastic waste.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Oral health has gained importance in recent years. Brushing teeth is the most important factor in the protection and treatment of oral dental health. However, brushing teeth with a toothbrush alone is insufficient to provide complete oral hygiene. Cleaning of teeth and interdental surfaces of fillings/caps/implants is also necessary to ensure adequate oral hygiene. The invention relates to a multifunctional and environmentally friendly toothbrush with an interdental brush in the handle part, which can be replaced and made of biodegradable material in order to meet these requirements.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to a toothbrush with a replaceable brush (2) tip and a replaceable interdental brush (3) in the handle part (1), which ensures cleaning of all faces of the teeth.

Two brushes, which are produced separately causing difficulty in obtaining and using, are combined in a single toothbrush by this invention. The presence of the interdental brush (3) in the handle part (1 ) of the toothbrush ensures cleaning of all tooth surfaces with a single toothbrush. The interdental brush (3) in the handle part (1 ) can be angled 90 degrees as a result of its attachment with a pin, and thus it can be used easily at the interdental surfaces of both the front teeth and the back teeth. The brush tips [toothbrush (2) and interdental brush tips (3)] in this toothbrush are replaceable and are made of environmentally friendly bio-plastic material (at least one of polylactic acid and polyethylene materials). It has a groove that allows the tip of the brush (2) and the tip of the interdental brush (3) to be attached and replaced when needed. In addition to all these, the cover (4), which ensures to maintain the hygiene of the brush by enclosing the interdental brush (3), is also part of our invention. Considerable amount of environment protection is provided owing to our inventionby reducing the use of plastics obtained from petroleum products. In addition, due to the replaceable brush tips; the service life is extended, and raw material, transportation, storage and packaging costs are reduced.
