Abstract:

[PROBLEMS] To provide a biodiesel fuel engine system by which a biomass fuel for existing diesel engines can be produced from liquid biomass resources containing fats and oils originating in plants or animals without resorting to a reforming treatment by the methyl ester method and which can be stably driven at a low fuel cost and a high reliability; and a method of driving a biodiesel fuel engine. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] As a liquid fuel stock, use is made of liquid biomass resources containing fats and oils originating in plants or animals. After adding a surfactant, the liquid fuel stock is divided into microparticles having a diameter of 10 μm or less by a miniaturization device (1) to give a biomass fuel. Next, the biomass fuel is supplied via a biomass fuel feeding system (50) into a fuel jetting device (51). From the fuel jetting device, the biomass fuel is sprayed into an engine cylinder (52) to thereby drive the diesel engine (53).
