Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel biomarker for diagnosing cancer, and a use thereof. STC1, a novel biomarker for diagnosing or predicting the prognosis of cancer according to the present invention, was found to be related to poor prognosis of cancer patients according to the expression level, and was found to be overexpressed in various cancer cells. In addition, STC1 was found to be a biomarker related to the proliferation, invasion, and migration (metastasis) of cancer cells. In addition, it was found that STC1 is detected in the serum or urine of bladder cancer patients, and can be effectively used for diagnosing and predicting the prognosis of bladder cancer by identifying differences in expression according to the patient's clinical stage.
