Abstract:
The present invention relates to a biomarker for early diagnosis of diabetes or diabetic complications, and use thereof and, more specifically, to an ADAM2 biomarker for early diagnosis of diabetes or diabetic complications, a composition for early diagnosis of diabetes or diabetic complications using the biomarker, a diagnostic kit, and a method for providing information necessary for early diagnosis of diabetes or diabetic complications. The ADAM2 biomarker for early diagnosis of diabetes or diabetic complications of the present invention was confirmed to have a specifically reduced expression level in the pre-diabetes stage, compared to normal subjects, and a pattern was confirmed in which the expression thereof was further increased in diabetic retinopathy and diabetic nephropathy, which are diabetic complications, as compared to normal or diabetic subjects, and thus the biomarker can be useful for early diagnosis of diabetes or diabetic complications.
