Abstract:
The disclosed device body (13), which is a treatment tank that has a gas-liquid interface (13a), is provided with: a hydrothermal decomposition device (17) which is a biomass treatment device that decomposes cellulose, a hemicellulose, and lignin from a biomass feedstock (11) under high-temperature/high-pressure conditions and removes the lignin component and the hemicellulose component; a biomass-solids extraction unit (18) that extracts biomass solids (the hot-water-insoluble component) (20) treated in the hydrothermal decomposition device (17); and a slurrying tank (21) that connects to the biomass-solids extraction unit (18). Water (19) is injected into the slurrying tank and the extracted biomass solids (20) are added, forming a slurry.
