Abstract:
Provided is a biometric authentication device which is capable of performing authentication with high accuracy, even when a lighting environment or an image capturing device differs at the times of registration and authentication. The present invention is provided with: an image input unit which captures an image of a finger under ambient light and acquires at least one biometric image; an authentication processing unit which processes the biometric image; and a storage unit which stores registration information on at least one of a plurality of biometric features obtained from the finger. The authentication processing unit uses the registration information in the storage unit, generates a color conversion matrix which minimizes a difference in representative color between a biometric image that is a reference and a biometric image at the time of authentication, uses the generated color conversion matrix to generate a color-converted biometric image (S105), extracts a feature amount (S105), and calculates the similarity with the registration information to perform collation (S106).
