Abstract:
The biometric authentication device of the present invention is provided with a biometric sensor for acquiring, without tactile contact, an image of a biometric authentication section of a user; a distance sensor for acquiring the distance between the biometric sensor and the section to be biometrically authenticated; and a guiding image display unit for displaying guiding images which change consecutively or in stages depending upon the distance that has been acquired from the distance sensor, and which guides the section to be biometrically authenticated to a distance which is suitable for the biometric sensor to acquire an image thereof. The biometric authentication program causes a computer to perform execution of steps for: distance acquisition for acquiring the distance between the biometric sensor, which acquires the image of the section of the user to be biometrically authenticated without tactile contact, and the section; and guiding image display for displaying guiding images, which change consecutively or in stages depending upon the distance that has been acquired in the distance acquisition step, to guide the section to be biometrically authenticated to a distance which is suitable for the biometric sensor to acquire an image thereof.
