Abstract:
A biometric device (10) of the present invention comprises a captured image acquisition unit (11) where a captured image is acquired by infrared cameras (21, 22), the brightness of an image portion of a target being higher in proportion to the temperature of the target which is higher than the temperature of the background, and the brightness of the image portion of the target being lower in proportion to the temperature of the target which is higher than the temperature of the background, in correspondence with a temperature difference between the background and the target; a biometric image extraction unit (12) which performs a first biometric image extraction processing to extract the image portion of the target which is assumed to be a living body from an area where the brightness of the captured image is equal to or below a first threshold (Yth1); and a biometric unit (14) which recognizes a presence of the living body based on the image portion of the target extracted by the biometric image extraction unit (12).
