Provided are a biosensor system for discriminating that a biosensor chip has been inserted, and for measuring the biological information of a biological substance fed to the biosensor chip, and a measuring device thereof. The size of the biosensor chip is reduced to improve the reliability of the measuring device and to elongate the product lifetime. In case the biological information is to be measured by inserting the biosensor chip having a sensor electrode formed of an electrode member of a higher electric resistance than that of a conductive metal, into the measuring device, the measurement error of the biological information is suppressed. The biosensor chip comprises a first sensor electrode (21), which is made, when inserted into an insertion portion (5), to contact at its one end with an earth electrode (12) and an insertion discriminating circuit side connector electrode (13), and is electrically connected at its other end with a reaction unit (23), and a second sensor electrode (22), which is made to contact at its one end with a measuring circuit side connector electrode (11) and is electrically connected at its other end with the reaction unit (23).
