Title:
BIPOLAR BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2022/123970
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a bipolar lead-acid battery in which, even if an electrolytic solution enters into a communication hole, the electrolytic solution is effectively prevented from reaching the negative-electrode side and the generation of a liquid junction is strongly suppressed, whereby battery performance is less likely to deteriorate. A bipolar battery (1) is provided with a bipolar electrode (130) that has: a positive electrode (120) and a negative electrode (110); and a bipolar plate (111) in which the positive electrode (120) is provided to one surface thereof and the negative electrode (110) is provided to the other surface thereof. A communication hole (150) for communicating between the one surface and the other surface is formed in the bipolar plate (111). A positive-electrode current collector (101) and a negative-electrode current collector (102) are electrically joined via the communication hole (150). Partitioning means (160, 170) for partitioning a space between the inner surface of the communication hole (150) and a joint portion (J) between the positive-electrode current collector (101) and the negative-electrode current collector (102) is provided to said space.
