Abstract:
A bipolar electrode comprising: a first active material layer, for example, a positive active material layer, said first active material layer being formed on one face of a collector in such a manner as to contain a first active material; and a second active material layer, for example, a negative active material layer, said second active material layer being formed on the other face of the collector in such a manner as to contain a second active material that has a smaller compression strength than the first active material. A density-adjusting additive, which is an additive material having a larger compression strength than the compression strength of the second active material, is added to the second active material layer.
