Title:
BIPOLAR PLATE, CELL FRAME, BATTERY CELL, CELL STACK, AND REDOX FLOW BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2022/070260
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a bipolar plate comprising a first surface and a second surface facing each other. The first surface and the second surface each comprises a first edge, a second edge, and a middle region, where: the first edge refers to an edge positioned on the side to which an electrolyte is supplied; the second edge refers to an edge positioned on the side from which the electrolyte is discharged; and the middle region refers to a region extending from a middle line toward the first edge and toward the second edge and occupying 20% or less of the inter-edge distance, where the middle line refers to a line bisecting between the first edge and the second edge, and the inter-edge distance refers to the distance between the first edge and the second edge. The middle region of the first surface and/or the second surface is provided with multiple groove parts through which the electrolyte is distributed, and the middle region has a specific cross-section obtained when the bipolar plate is cut in a specific direction, where the specific direction refers to a direction orthogonal to the direction from the first edge toward the second edge, and the specific cross-section refers to a cross-section having a cross-sectional area ratio B/(A+B) of 0.05 to 0.60 (where A represents the cross-sectional area of the bipolar plate, and B represents the total cross-sectional area of the multiple groove parts).
