Description:

Description BIRTHDAY PLACARD TO BE DISPLAYED AUTOMATICALLY

Technical Field

[1] The present invention relates to a decoration item which is placed on a cake used for a birthday, etc., and in particular to a birthday placard to be displayed automatically, which is able to make a party more fun by providing a common candle or a recently introduced melody candle, etc. with various functions.

[2]

Background Art

[3] A cake generally used for a birthday or a wedding anniversary party has been generally used for making a party more fun rather than just eating the same. Various items are placed on a cake for promoting an atmosphere of a party or making the same more fun or a congratulation text is decorated on an upper side of a cake. As it advances, upon lighting a candle, a certain melody is outputted. In recent years, splendid lights are outputted using a sparkler. So as to celebrate a birthday age, a candle of a numeral shape of an age is placed or a numeral cake corresponding to an anniversary year may be used. Multiple candles may be used in the numbers corresponding to ages. It is an object of the present invention to provide a cake decoration item which is able to provide the above multiple functions as well as to make a party more fun.

[4]

Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem

[5] It is possible to make an atmosphere of a birthday party more fun as a congratulation text is suddenly displayed or a congratulation melody is outputted at the time when a birthday candle is lighted in a state that a conglutination text is hidden as usual time rather than a text for congratulating a birthday is written on a cake. It is preferred that the above function is suddenly performed after a certain time period passes upon lighting a candle. A time delay function may be performed at a lower cost.

[6]

Technical Solution

[7] In order to overcome the above two problems, a spring is used so that it is suddenly operated at a certain time period upon lighting a candle with a low cost and a simple method and is compressed and tied using a cord so that the compressed state is not loosened. The cord is cut at a certain time, and the compression of the spring is released, and a hidden message is exploded. So as to operate it after a certain time

period, as a method for implementing at the lowest cost and simple way, a cord is placed beside a candle decorated on a cake, and a certain heat is applied from the candle to the cord. At this time, the cord is cut. Here, the length of the candle may be properly determined, so that as the candle burns, the light touches the cord, and the cord is cut after a certain time period. So, with the above construction, it is possible to easily implement a time delay timer. [8]

Advantageous Effects

[9] In the present invention, it is possible to provide a cake decoration item having various comprehensive functions.

[10] Namely, it is not needed to additionally use a candle without recording a congratulation text on an upper surface of a cake. It is not needed to prepare a congratulation melody and music. With one cake decoration item, the above-described all functions may be implemented. The above functions are automatically performed upon lighting a candle. The above functions are suddenly performed after a certain time period after a candle is lighted, so that it is possible to make visitors more fun at a lower cost.

Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention

[28] The product of the present invention is placed on a certain cake, so that it is preferred to make the product smaller. Various functions are provided for promoting atmosphere.

[29] The construction of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[30] Figure 1 is a front view illustrating an assembled state of the present invention.

Figure 2 is a view illustrating an example after an operation is finished according to the present invention. Figure 3 is a disassembled perspective view illustrating the whole parts according to the present invention.

[31] As a front cover 4 and a back cover 3 are assembled with each other, a circular groove is formed at the left and right arm portions. The right arm 8 and the left arm 9 having the same inner diameter and outer diameter as the groove are assembled with the folded placard 7. As shown in Figure 8, the right arm 8 and the left arm 9 are integral with an upper vertical portion, a lower inclined portion and a screen fixing pin. For an easier work, an intermediate portion of the upper vertical portion is cut with a part of the same being separated with a right arm lid 8-3 and a left arm lid 9-3. After the engaging cord 6 and the compression spring 5 are assembled, the lids are engaged.

[32] As shown in Figure 4, in case of the left side, when the compression spring 5 is assembled, the compression spring 5 is compressed in the groove of the left arm 9 and is inserted from the lower side to the upper side, and the compression spring upper ring 5-1 is inserted into the left arm compression spring fixing pin 9-2 formed at the left arm 9, and as shown in Figure 14, the compression spring lower ring 5-2 of the lower side of the compression spring 5 is fixed into the front cover compression spring fixing pin 4-1 formed at the front cover 4. In the same manner as the above in case of the

right side, the other compression spring 5 is compressed inside the right arm 8, and the compression spring upper ring 5-1 is fixed into the right arm compression spring fixing pin 8-2 of the right arm 8, and the compression spring lower ring 5-2 of the lower side of the compression spring 5 is fixed into the front cover compression spring fixing pin 4-1 formed at the front cover 4. In case of the right arm 8, since it is same as the left arm 9, the drawing is omitted, and only reference numerals 9 and 8 are adapted with respect the important elements.

[33] In the right arm 8 and left arm 9, the placard 7 with a printed text of a congratulation message is folded in a flat shape, and as shown in Figure 9, the attaching portion 7-1 is attached to the right arm screen fixing pin 8-4 and the left arm screen fixing pin 9-4 and is escaped at the when the right arm 8 and the left arm 9 escape from the body to the upper side with the body consisting of the front cover 4 and the back cover 3.

[34] When the compression spring 5 is compressed, a force is generated so that the right arm 8 and the left arm 9 escape from the circular groove formed with the engagement of the back cover groove 3-1 and the front cover groove 4-2 by means of a spring recovering force of the compression spring 5. Escaping of the right arm 8 and the left arm 9 is prevented by the engaging cord 6.

[35] The engaging cord 6 is made of a material having a high tensional force but a low heat resistance property for example a fixing line. As shown in Figure 5, it is made is a circular shape. As shown in Figure 3, it is bent in a shape of the engaging cord 6 and is assembled. As shown in Figure 8, it is extended via the upper side of the right arm 8, the interior of the compression spring 5 disposed in the interior of the right arm 8, two front cover compression spring fixing pins 4-1 integral with the front cover 4, the interior of the compression spring 5 disposed in the interior of the left arm 9, and the upper side of the left arm 9. Figure 7 is a view illustrating a connection of the engaging cord 6 of the right arm 8. In case of the left arm 9, it is same as the right arm 8, so that the description thereon will be omitted.

[36] The assembling procedure of the engaging cord 6 will be described in more detail.

As shown in Figure 7, it is extended via the both grooves of the protruded portion of the right arm slot 8-1 formed at the right arm 8 and is extended to the lower side and passes through the interior of the compression spring 5, and is extended to the lower side and, as shown in Figure 8, is extended round two front cover compression fixing pins 4-1 integral with the front cover 4 and passes through the interior of the compression spring 5 compressed in the interior of the left arm 9 and reaches at the upper side of the left arm 9 along the groove of the protrusion of the left arm slot 9-1. So, the entire shape of the engaging cord 6 forms a circular shape.

[37] When the engaging cord 6 is connected, the right arm 8 and the left arm 9, which

are tempted to escape by means of the compression recovery force of two compression springs 5, is tired by the engaging cord 6, and the engaging cord 6 is caught by two front cover compression spring fixing pins 4-1, so that the right arm 8 and the left arm 9 are not escaped to the outside.

[38] A candle support 2 with a candle 1 is installed on the upper side of either the right arm 8 or the left arm 9, in this embodiment, the right arm 8, and as shown in Figure 6, the candle support 2 is engaged so that the engaging cord 6 is positioned at a lower side of the candle 1.

[39] The candle and the object of the same will be described.

[40] In a cake party, a customer lights the candle 1. At this time, when the candle 1 of the present invention is lighted, and the present invention operates, it is impossible to obtain a sudden exciting feeling. So as to provide more fun, a certain time is passed after the candle 1 is lighted. After a certain time is passed, the product of the present inventions starts operating while the visitors do not recognize. Namely, it is an important feature of the present invention that the candle is used for providing a certain time delay. According to the test, a thread candle having a diameter of 3mm, which is generally sold in the market, takes three seconds until wax is melted by lmm, so that the length of the wax of the candle 1 from the lower side of the wick of the candle 1 to the portion contacting with the engaging cord 6 is about 5mm, and the product of the present invention starts operating automatically after about 15 seconds upon lighting. Since it is possible to control the operation time after lighting the candle by adjusting the length of the candle, so that the candle may be used as a timer in the present invention. The right arm 8, the left arm 9, two compression springs 5, a folded placard 7, a candle support 2 with a candle 1, an engaging cord 6 and a melody module 10 are engaged in the body formed of the front cover 4 and the back cover 3. With the above construction, the front cover 4 and the back cover 3 are engaged for thereby finishing the shape of Figure 1.

[41] When the present invention is used, the product of the present invention is placed on the cake, and the candle 1 is lighted, and the flame of the candle 1 burns the wax, and as shown in Figure 6, the flame reaches at the engaging cord 6, and the engaging cord 6 is melted and cut. Figure 11 is a view for describing a state that the right arm 8 and the left arm 9 and the folded placard 7 attached to the same are slightly escaped to the upper side after the engaging cord 6 is cut. At the time when the engaging cord 6 is cut, the right arm 8 is fast moved up in the diagonal right direction(for example, two hour direction) from the body along the circular groove formed in the back cover groove 3-1 and the front cover groove 4-2 by means of the recovery force of the compression spring 5. At the same time, the left arm 9 fast drags the cut engaging cord 6 in the outer diagonal upper and left direction (for example, 10 hour direction) and

stops when the compression of the compression spring 5 is fully released. The moving up speed may be different based on the recovery force of the compression spring 5. When the recovery force is enough, the moving up speed is so fast. The flame 1-1 is fast minimized by the friction with air.

[42] When the right arm 8 and the left arm 9 move up, the attached and folded placard 7 fast moves up via the upper opening 4-a of Figure 10 along with the right arm 8 and the left arm 9. The left arm 9 and the right arm 8 are widened and move up in the left and right directions from the body (for example, an angle between two hour and 10 hour angle), so that the folded placard 7 is horizontally unfolded. In a state that two left and right compression springs 5 are fully released, the width of the placard 7 is determined so that the placard 7 can be fully expanded.

[43] Figure 12 is a view illustrating a construction that the front cover 4 is removed while viewing an inclined angle for describing the operation after the engaging cord 4 is cut, and the product of the present invention operates. Figure 7-a shows a state that the placard is formed in the body in a flat shape. Figure 7-b shows an intermediate step that the folded placard is exploded as the right arm 8 and the left arm 9 move up and are widened in the outward direction of the body. Figure 7-c is a view illustrating a state that it is fully exploded. Figures 8-a and 9-a show the state before the operation, and Figures 8-b and 9-b show the state in the course of the operation, and Figures 8-c and 9c show the state after the operation is finished.

[44] Since the placard 7 is folded and unfolded while it is being escaped, it should be m ade of a material which is not well wrinkled and is well unfolded. The material of the same is preferably a thin paper, vinyl, cloth, etc.

[45] As shown in Figure 13, the melody module 10 is provided in the body formed of the back cover 3 and the front cover 4 for generating melody. The melody module 10 includes a plate switch 12 for allowing the contact point to connect or disconnect by the elastic force of the spring, and a copper plate based on the circuit is formed on the circuit substrate 15 contacting with the contact point of the plate switch 12 as shown in Figure 15 and is connected with the positive polarity. The plate switch 12 is attached to the copper plate contact point of the substrate by means of the elastic force in the manufacture step. As shown in Figure 13, the left arm screen fixing pin 9-4 formed integrally with the left arm 9 is inserted between the circuit substrate 15 and the plate switch 12 in the course of the assembling, so that the left arm screen fixing pin 9-4 operates as an insulation material. Since the switch is off, the melody is not produced in the standby mode. When the product of the present invention is used, the left arm 9 moves up by cutting the engaging cord 6, and the left arm screen fixing pin 9-4 is escaped between the copper plate formed on the circuit substrate 15 and the plate switch 12,and the plate switch 12 contacts with the copper plate of the circuit substrate

15 with the help of the elastic force of the spring, so that the plate switch is turned on, and the melody is produced.

[46] The melody chip 11 is a commercially available chip. One shot mode may be used for thereby outputting melodies by a certain time and stopping the same. So, the melody can be outputted only for a desire time period. A transistor may be provided in the interior of the circuit for thereby increasing the volume. A speaker 14 and a battery 13 may be provided in the melody module 10 for producing a certain sound.

[47]

Industrial Applicability

[48] As described above, the birthday placard to be displayed automatically according to the present invention is designed so that a hidden congratulation placard is suddenly outputted, and a mysterious and fantastic event can be obtained, thus making a party or an event more fun, so that it is possible to provide a special effect for a party or an event.

[49] In particular, the birthday placard to be displayed automatically according to the present invention may provide a placard decorated with various patterns or images. So, it is possible to provide a dramatic effect for a certain event. In addition to the message, a name of a company name or a trademark may be provided for thereby achieving an advertisement effect. The present invention may be used as an advertisement member of a product thus achieving various efficient functions.
