Abstract:

An intermediate portion of a wiper blade is pivoted on the end of a wiper arm through a pivot shaft generally perpendicular to length direction of the arm. A support member for supporting the wiper blade at a portion nearer to the wiper shaft than the intermediate portion is provided on the wiper arm. In this arrangement, it is structured such that slide resistance, against the support member, produced by the movement of the wiper blade in a direction of the window face is reduced. A stabilizer (supporting member)(13) is structured by an upper piece portion (13a) and a pair of side piece portions (13b) so as to form a supporting recess portion in which a wiper blade (3) is supportedly fitted. A plurality of ribs (13h), long in a direction toward the window face, are formed in an inside face of the side piece portion (13b) such that the ribs (13h) are in a linear contact with the outside faces of both side piece portions (15b) of a support-receiving body (15) fitted on a first lever end portion (10d) of the wiper blade (3).
