Title:
BLADES FOR A WIND POWER GENERATOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/093137
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The present invention relates to blades for a wind power generator, and more particularly, to blades for a horizontal axis wind power generator having a ring-type rim. The ring-type rim of the present invention binds a plurality of blades into a single unit, which allows for thin depth blades, enabling the blades to be lightweight and have wider width, which provides a wind power generator with improved efficiency. The blades are fixed on the ring-type rim and protected from breakage even in strong winds such as a typhoon and the like. The blades of the present invention also enable easy power generation even in places with weak winds. The ring-type rim can be manufactured as split-type, in which the ring-type rim is divided by the number of blades, and one blade and one piece of the divided ring-type rim are bound and coupled together through a welding process or using screws or the like, or one blade and one piece of the divided ring-type rim are molded into one body through a casting process. The ring can be made of a magnesium alloy, a tungsten alloy, or the like, which are lightweight and strong, enabling the ring to be permanently used.
