Disclosed is a method for producing a blank for a parking pole involving: a cutting step (S2-1) for cutting a circular rod material (W) into a cut material (10) having a predetermined length; an end face forming step (S2-2) for forming the end faces for the cut material (10); a vertical compression step (S3-1 to S3-3) in which compression is performed in the axial direction in order to form a projecting member (20) which has a projecting flat section (44) on the side surface of a center flat section (42); a bending step (S4-1 to S4-2) for forming a bent material (30) which is bent approximately in the center; and a horizontal compression step (S6) in which compression is performed in a direction which is perpendicular to the projecting direction in order to form, from the bent material (30), a blank (40) for a parking pole having a predetermined flat shape.
