BLANK RADIAL FORGING METHOD AND A FOUR-HAMMER FORGING DEVICE FOR CARRYING OUT SAID METHOD

The inventions relate to metal forming and can be used for radially forging slabs and blanks. The forging of a hot blank is carried out with a degree of reduction ranging from 30 to 99 % in one set of hammers which are mounted on synchronously movable holders. The forging consists in drafting, conveying and twisting a blank, wherein the drafting is carried out at a depth whose value is determined according to a cited quotation. The inventive method is carried out by means of a device comprising hammers whose working surface is formed by several planes, holders for top and lower hammers provided with inclined sliding surfaces with respect to which the inclined sliding surfaces of the side hammer holders are movable. Said side hammers are connected to the top and lower hammer holders by means of eight U-shaped guides. The hammers have working segments embodied in the form of equilateral trapeziums. The internal surfaces of the U-shaped guides which form an interlock joint and the planes of the hammer holders surrounded thereby are disposed at an angle $g(a)=0-170° to the plane fixing the guide to the hammer holder. Said invention makes it possible to improve the quality of forging and to increase wearability of the used tooling.
