Abstract:
This supply apparatus (8) supplies blanks (10) for forming outer cartons (14) of packages to a packaging machine (12), and is provided with a transport path (26) on which the blanks are transported one at a time along a transport surface (40), and a pair of rollers (30) rotatably arranged to either side of the transport surface, the pair of rollers having, on the outer peripheral surfaces (42c, 44c) thereof, pressing zones (46, 52) for reeling out the blanks while pressing band-shaped areas (24) of the blanks that correspond to corner edges (24) of the outer cartons. One of the rollers (42) of the pair has a multitude of blades (48) in the pressing zones thereof, and when blanks pass between the pair of rollers, the blades form a multitude of scored lines (58, 90, 94, 96) in zones of the blanks, the scored lines reducing the bend strength of the zones.
