Abstract:
A bleaching liquid composition and a processing method for silver halide color papers. The composition and method inhibit the tar generation in a bleaching tank and the stain increase in finished prints which accompany a separate-type rapid processing for bleaching/fixing, and are satisfactory in both image quality of the finished print and the impression that the processing is simple and speedy. The bleaching liquid composition comprises 1) a bleaching agent and 2) an addition compound of at least one compound selected among sulfites, hydrogen sulfites, and hydrogen metasulfites (or the at least one compound coexists with the addition compound) and does not contain 3) a fixing agent. The method of processing a silver halide color paper comprises a step in which the color paper which has been treated with a color-developing solution is subsequently treated with a bleaching liquid derived from the bleaching liquid composition and then subjected to a fixing treatment.
