Abstract:
A blind nut that can be attached with high crimping force to an attachment subject member so as not to rotate. This blind nut (20) is equipped with an internally threaded portion (30) on the inside of which an internal thread (25) is formed, a hollow pipe-shaped portion (21) adjacent to the internally threaded portion, and a flange (24) having an opening and formed on the end opposite the internally threaded portion. The internally threaded portion and the pipe-shaped portion of the blind nut are inserted into an attachment hole (43) of the attachment subject member (41), and a portion of the pipe-shaped portion is elastically deformed such that the diameter thereof increases, thereby clamping the attachment subject member between the deformed increased-diameter portion (27) and the flange. The lower surface of the flange is a slanted surface (24k) slanting such that the outer peripheral portion of the flange approaches the surface of the attachment subject member. The blind nut is crimpled securely against the attachment subject member at the outer peripheral portion of the flange and is attached so as not to rotate in the attachment subject member. The lower surface of the flange may also a concave portion formed therein rather than being formed as slanted surface. Preferably the flange, the pipe-shaped portion, and the internally threaded portion are formed from different materials.
