This blind rivet makes it possible to obtain high water tightness and sufficient sealing properties for single blind rivets. This blind rivet (1) is for fastening to a base body having an opening and is provided with: a rivet main body (10) which comprises a large-diameter flange (16), a taper (15) adjacent to the flange, and a sleeve extending in the axial direction from the taper, and which has a bottomed hole (18) formed from the surface of the flange to the bottom of the sleeve; and a mandrel (30) which comprises a head (31) and a slender shaft having an external diameter smaller than that of the head and extending from the head. The head of the mandrel is arranged at the bottom of the bottomed hole in the rivet main body, and the shaft is combined so as to come out from the top surface of the flange of the rivet main body. In the sleeve of the rivet main body, a thick section (13) is formed which holds the head so said head cannot be removed from the bottomed hole in the rivet main body. The mandrel is pulled out and the sleeve is expanded in diameter, sealing the base body between the flange and the section with the expanded diameter.
