Abstract:
Provided are: a block copolymer that has a narrow molecular weight distribution and can be used in DSA techniques; a block copolymer intermediate for the block copolymer; and production methods for the block copolymer and the block copolymer intermediate. The present invention uses a block copolymer intermediate that is represented by general formula (1) or (2). (In general formulas (1) and (2), R1 and R3 each independently represent a polymerization initiator residue, R2 and R4 each independently represent an aromatic group or an alkyl group, Y1 represents a (meth)acrylic acid ester polymer block, Y2 represents a styrene or styrene derivative polymer block, L represents a C1–6 alkylene group, X represents a halogen atom, and m and n each independently represent an integer from 1 to 5.)
