Abstract:
The invention relates to a block plank for the construction of wooden walls for houses and other buildings consisting of several such block planks (6, 7) placed on top of each other in a horizontal position. Said plank has a wedge-shaped longitudinal slit (3), which is tapered towards the core (2) of the plank (6, 7), on the lower bearing surface thereof (8). According to the inventive method, said planks (6, 7) can be produced with less wood humidity, whereby the used logs(1), are provided with at least one longitudinal slot (3) extending as far as the core (2) of the respective log (1) before drying. The logs (1) are then dried in a drying chamber in order to produce a humidity content of less than 15 %, preferably 11 %, and then the logs (1) are sawn to produce planks of a desired size.
