Abstract:
A block for a power transmission belt, enabling the belt to maintain excellent power
transmission ability, and a power transmission belt using the block. A friction
contact surface (224) of each of both sides of the block (220) has a front end (a)
of a front surface portion (224a) and a rear end (b) of a rear surface portion (224b).
The front end (a) is located displaced by a predetermined distance α to
the inner side in the width direction of a block body (220a) from the center P in
the thickness direction of the block body (220a). The rear end (b) is located displaced
a predetermined distance β to the outer side in the width direction of the
block body (220a) from the center (P) in the thickness direction of the block body
(220a). With the above conditions satisfied, each friction contact surface (224)
is formed such that its cross-section has a gentle curve lying from the front end
(a) of the front surface portion (224a) to the rear end (b) of the rear surface portion
(224b) and recessed from the outside toward the center in the width direction of
the block body (220a).
