Abstract:

A blood filter device having a housing and a filter (8). The housing has a head section (2) having formed in it an inlet port (5) and forming an upper structure of the housing; a filtration section (3) for forming a central structure under the head section; and a bottom section (4) provided under the filtration section and having formed in it an outlet port (7). The filter (8) is installed in a cavity of the filtration section and partitioning a cavity of the housing into the head section side and the bottom section side. The filter is formed from a sheet-like filtration material folded into pleat, and the filter is placed such that ridges of the pleats traverse the cavity of the filtration section in parallel to each other. The bottom section has a circular cone section (4a) whose inner bottom surface forms a circular cone surface projecting downward. Since the bottom section has the circular cone section, resistance to blood that passes the inside of the housing is reduced. As a result, pressure loss is suppressed to a sufficiently low level with the size of the blood filter device reduced and sufficient filtration ability of the filter secured.
