Abstract:
The arterial volume at a peripheral site is detected during a servo control period by an arterial volume sensor disposed at a peripheral site (site on the peripheral side to a measurement site) of a person to be measured (step S204). If the variation of the arterial volume at the peripheral site or the value of the arterial volume is greater than or equal to a predetermined ratio of a reference value at an initial measurement, a servo control and blood pressure determination processing are continued (steps S210 to S218). Subsequently, when it is detected that the variation of the arterial volume at the peripheral site or the value of the arterial volume is less the predetermined ratio of the reference value at the initial measurement, the measurement is stopped at this point (step S220).
